Coding: The New Modern Language for Elementary Students
It is hard to read any educational news these days without coming across headlines that raise the hot topics of "Computational Thinking", "Coding" and "Programming".
In New York City teachers are being trained to code, in England all students will need to program in two languages by the age of eleven!
So, if you are confused by any of the terms above or consider programming as something reserved for university grads on desktop computers then come and be enlightened.
Programming is both fun, incredibly creative and can be easily introduced to kids from K - 5 easily using the iPad. Even if you are not interested in programming you owe it to your students to let them experience what could quickly become a lifelong passion and fulfilling, lucrative career.
In this session I will share all of the amazing apps on the iPad and resources that can be sequenced and used by students from K - 5... and beyond. Bring your iPad along and be ready to get messy with code!
